Michael Cooper
Managing Principal
Michael is co-founder and managing principal of Blue River Development. Michael specializes in Blue River Development’s land and lot origination business for the homebuilding industry. Under Michael's direct oversight, Blue River transacts on thousands of homesites each year, leading to dozens of communities in and around the Atlanta market as well across the broader southeast region. Michael’s expertise in systems-based operations has resulted in a land pipeline with predictable flow and deals with attractive margins.

Through a unique systems-driven approach, BRD has established an impressive track record of securing below market residential land opportunities in both the for-sale and for-rent space while focused on markets characterized by population and employment growth. BRD boasts a team of industry experts in their respective field, with a leadership team amassing over 200 years of combined real estate experience. BRD’s acquisition team has established a 90%+ success rate since 2020.

Blue River Civil Design performs our in-house due diligence, forward planning, site design, engineering, feasibility and budgeting capabilities. They enable BRD to evaluate site feasibility while precisely tailoring its projects to comply with the respective development code.

Blue River Analytics (BRA) is a one-stop shop for underwriting providing clients a customized report based on their specific preferences including supporting backup data on the subject site conclusion. In addition, BRA will collaborate with BTR subscribers to identify top sites.

Blue River Communities (BRC) is a homebuilder focused on single-family detached homes and townhomes priced between $300,000 and $600,000. BRC serves both the for-sale market to individual homebuyers and the for-rent market to institutional Build-for-Rent investors.
